French Coast to Canal du Midi

The Sommieres Chateau/Fortress was quite large with a commanding view of the town and river. Originally there was a chapel, lodgings, a keep, an extra tower and the wall which had a row of battlements and merlons with arrow slits The ramparts went for more than 240m.
